This report presents the results of a technology program conducted at the Guidance and Control Directorate, US Army Missile Research, Development and Engineering Laboratory to demonstrate the feasibility of using a digital computer and navigation unit to control an optical sight/laser designator system. The system tested the capability to determine the coordinates of a target visible in the optical sight to cue the optical sight to coordinates furnished by the operator, and to track a target inertially to compensate for aircraft motion.
