The aim of this project was to obtain information on speeding offenders including repeat offenders and high speed offenders, in order to better target countermeasures. In South Australia, speed detection has traditionally used 'follow and time' techniques, slant beam radars, mobile and hand held radars and digitectors. In recent years, the emphasis on speed detection has increased substantially, with the introduction of speed-cameras in 1991 and laser speed detection devices in 1995.
