The report presents a study on the behavior of vehicles on wet pavement. Information on the tractive force relationships occurring at the individual wheels of a vehicle especially on a wet pavement is very important for the theoretical soundness of design guidelines. During braking tests, the forces acting between tire and pavement as well as the accelerations consequently acting on the vehicle body unit including the body unit speed are measured with a vehicle on an actual pavement by means of special measuring hubs on all four wheels. The forces are recorded as a function of the distance. At the same time, the tire profile depths, the water-film thicknesses as well as the speed are varied.
