Analysis of in-orbit maintenance is used to derive concepts of main maintainable or refuelable spacecraft, as well as of freighter and/or tanker servicers. Causes limiting satellite life expectancy and relibility are explained. A design analysis is presented for docking subsystems maintenance manipulator systems and tools. General information is presented concerning maintenance on telecommunication satellites in geostationary orbit. Mathematical models are presented.
