The Navy has developed many new logistics strategies for the FFG-7 class ships, which differ significantly from traditional practices in the surface Navy. It wants to reduce the number of shipboard personnel needed and increase ship availability. This report raises a number of issues about the feasibility and economy of the new logistics strategies and recommends actions to improve support.
