The study adds knowledge to issues of young people's activities, use of travel modes, transport experiences, attitudes towards traffic and environmental issues, and socialization to transport behavior. The project gives knowledge about how we 'learn' our travel habits, about the relation between attitudes towards transport modes, the use of these modes, and to what extent these attitudes are related to consciousness about traffic-related environmental problems. The project was carried out by means of postal questionnaires distributed to young people 13-20 year in Oslo. The results show, among other things, that attitudes towards public transport become more negative with age, that young people are aware of the environmental damages caused by car traffic, and that parents' transport behavior is of importance to their children's transport behavior and attitudes towards transport and the environments.
