The project involves the improvement of Route 8 between the vicinity of North Street in Seymour and the vicinity of Route 63 in Naugatuck, Connecticut, a distance of 5.8 miles. The proposed improvement will divert a high volume of through traffic from Beacon Falls Center, greatly improving the safety of motorists and pedestrians. Approximately seventy families and ten commercial properties will be affected by this project. The taking of less than twenty acres of the total 3338 acres of the Naugatuck State Forest in Beacon Falls and Naugatuck will be required.
