Brief descriptions are given of selected missiles already developed or under development. Some of the missiles covered are various types of air-to-ground, ground-to-ground, air-to-air, ground-to-air, heat and television guided missiles; heat and light homing missiles; heat-controlled missiles; radar-controlled missiles; and radar-homing missiles. The advantages, disadvantages, and limitations of radar guided missiles are reviewed. Radar is adequate to provide control to about 0.1 percent of the distance. Future development will require improvement in radar temperature.
