Engineering support given to ESA in the task of assembly model Spacelab payloads suitable for the demonstration mission series is described in a six volume report. This volume describes a Spacelab payload designed for a deep space pointing attitude with several astronomy objectives. Experiments involve infrared astronomy, extreme ultraviolet/ultraviolet astronomy, gamma ray astronomy, cosmic radiation, and high energy physics, as well as visual astronomy. A long duration mission (10 days) is envisaged.
