Environmental and ship performance data were collected aboard the USCGC POLAR STAR in April 1980 as part of a multi-year program to make an operational assessment of the feasibility of a year-round transportation system serving northwestern Alaska. Volume II contains the appendices to the report including data summaries, calculations, thickness measurements, and standard sea-ice nomenclature.
