Incremental benefits are created by using a transponder infrastructure to transmit real-time information over a radio network and presenting a total transportation route disposition graphically to service controllers. This paper describes how London Transport Buses are utilising an automatic vehicle location (AVL) system in order to improve its transportation service. (6 pages)
