This paper focuses on the design and development of a cost-efficient On-Board Data Acquisition System (ODAS) for spacecraft. The ODAS is indispensable for spacecraft missions, serving as the nerve center for data acquisition, communication, and control. Operating in extreme conditions, it enables real-time monitoring of vital parameters, facilitating telemetry tracking and communication with ground stations. Efficient data acquisition, processing, and transmission empower mission controllers to monitor spacecraft status, execute commands, and ensure mission success. Additionally, ODAS supports autonomous operations, crucial for executing tasks and adapting to unforeseen circumstances. Its reliability and efficiency are essential for safeguarding spacecraft assets and advancing space exploration. Current ODAS implementations for spacecraft are often costly due to their reliance on specialized components and complex designs. These high expenses pose a significant barrier to broader participation in space exploration. This work focuses on developing a cost-efficient alternative that reduces overall system costs and execution time without compromising performance. By leveraging innovative design strategies, affordable components, and streamlined processes, the proposed system significantly lowers costs while maintaining reliability and functionality.
