Paper presents summary review of spacecraft tracking and data acquisition; subjects covered include reasons for tracking, restrictions imposed on tracking by nature, merits of various types of tracking as function of altitude and coverage, accuracy needed for position determination, factors involved in tracking data acquisition, and possible changes in current technology to better meet requirements of tomorrow.
