Voltage stability is an important matter when considering the electrical stability of any network, including the ship electrical distribution ones. This paper provides a voltage stability study concerning mobile offshore drilling units, by the representation of a drillship electric system. The continuous power flow is used as a tool for the construction and analysis of the power versus voltage curve on its stable region. The loading is made on the propulsion equipment and the impacts of this study are observed along different case studies that reflect some possible scenarios that can happen during normal operations of a drillship vessel.
