In order to guarantee a single-mode regime for high-power relativistic gyrotrons, additional mode selectivity is necessary. It is suggested to substitute the classical cylindrical cavities by conic cavities operating on axis-symmetrical modes. In order to amplify the selectivity, such cavities are supplemented by corrugations, holes, and breaks of diameter.
