As an advanced technology in the field of heavy-duty electric transportation, megawatt-level charging technology is gradually becoming a key solution to the bottlenecks faced by traditional charging methods. With the global mining sector accelerating its transition to green and low-carbon practices, electric mining trucks exhibit great potential in terms of carbon reduction and operational economics. However, traditional charging technologies, due to their long recharging times and low efficiency, cannot fully meet the demands of mining trucks in high-intensity work environments. Therefore, there is an urgent need for the research and application of megawatt-level fast charging technology. This paper, based on the actual operational conditions of the Ordos mining demonstration in Inner Mongolia, calculates the total lifecycle economics of megawatt-level charging mining trucks, analyzing the economic differences between these and fuel mining trucks in terms of investment, time, and fuel costs. It conducts simulations and economic calculations for the scaled-up operation of mining truck fleets, considering the changes in investment and operating costs for megawatt-level charging mining trucks after large-scale development. Furthermore, it provides relevant recommendations for the operation of megawatt-level charging mining trucks in the demonstration mining site.
