The design of a miniaturized slot antenna fed by microstrip line is proposed based on meander slit configuration (MSC) loading technique on either side of the slot. It is found that the resonant frequency of reference and meander slit configuration loaded antennas are 2.07 GHz and 1.21 GHz respectively. As a result, we got 41.54% reduction in resonant frequency compared to the reference antenna with poor cross-pol level. Next, we have modified the meander slit configuration loaded antenna to remove the drawback of the cross-pol level as well as to achieve more miniaturization. The −10 dB bandwidth of loaded antenna is also enhanced more than 70% compared to reference antenna. We also observed the radiation patterns, input impedance characteristics, H field plot and current distributions and efficiency for each antenna topology.
