Autonomous driving has gotten significant attention of the research community over the last two decades. Autonomous driving algorithms being developed by the community are usually tested in a number of way, including off-line datasets, simulations, and real-live test vehicles. Small-sized vehicles also have a potential to be used as platforms for autonomous-driving research, but they need to be systematically analysed for their suitability for different aspects in autonomous-driving research. This, however, has not been very well investigated in the community. In this paper, we present our first work in asking ourselves the question if small-sized vehicles are suitable for autonomous driving research.
