In this demo, we describe and present a new Cooperative Advanced Driver Assistance System (CADAS). The system is composed of a Raspberry Pi, a GPS receiver and a WiFi enabled Android Smartphone. The purpose of the system is to alleviate traffic perturbations by suggesting the driver to adjust its speed. To do so, the system communicates with nearby vehicles to estimate the local traffic situation and computes an optimal speed, which will be communicated to the driver as an audio signal to avoid distraction. In a first part, we will briefly review a large-scale experiment that has recently been performed at a test track in the north of Luxembourg to test the efficiency of the system. Next, we will provide details on the demonstration setup and describe our approach.
