This paper presents a Recommendation Based Advance Diver Assistance System that helps to reduce shock wave formation which cause traffic jams on highways. Due to the reduction of shock wave travelling upstream there will be decrease in pollution caused by traffic jams in-turn fuel efficiency of the vehicle will increase. This also reduce fatigue level of the driver as an added benefit. The system consists of Raspberry Pi 3 Model B kit with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled. Serial GPS receiver to get the current location of the vehicle. For demo purpose a dummy vehicle has been created, it is controlled via Bluetooth LE enabled smart phone. It has Hall Effect sensor to calculate the speed, Optoisolator and motor driver circuit to drive the demo vehicle. This system will recommend the driver a speed range which he needs to maintain so that he does not faces traffic jam ahead. This speed recommendation is generated based on the traffic scenario ahead that is communicated by vehicles equipped with such systems ahead of it. The system uses Macroscopic and Microscopic traffic models to calculate the speed recommendations based on the density gradient between the two communicating vehicles as derived in the paper[1].
