Focuses on a transportation corridor and proposes operating concepts for two types of automated highway systems (AHS)-an urban bus-AHS with an unprotected right-of-way and an inter-city truck-AHS with protected right-of-way. The former is developed primarily for comparing the forward looking AHS option with a conventional light-rail system on an urban commute corridor.
