The growing global demand for clean and sustainable energy has sparked a notable rise in interest in photovoltaic (PV) systems as a feasible renewable energy source. To effectively integrate these PV systems with the grid, there's a need for efficient power conversion techniques that can optimize energy usage while ensuring smooth interaction between the renewable energy source and the utility grid. In this context, the concept of using a solar PV-based multilevel inverter emerges as a promising solution. This technology offers several advantages, including improved efficiency, enhanced power quality, and heightened grid stability. This research paper delves comprehensively into the technological progress, operational advantages, and obstacles related to deploying a solar PV-based multilevel inverter within grid-connected systems. The real-time implementation of the system is performed with the help of OPAL-RT controller.
