A fast fault location and isolation scheme for active distribution network with effectively earthed neutral is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the generalized current phase-angle difference (GCPAD) of a zone is defined, and its fault feature is analyzed. Secondly, the fault zone determination method based on the GCPAD is proposed. Thirdly, on the basis of the proposed fault zone determination method, the whole fault location and isolation scheme are presented. Finally, the suggested scheme is verified in an active distribution network model by MATLAB/Simulink simulation, and the simulation results indicate that this scheme is correct and effective.
