We obtained far-infrared (THz) region absorption spectra of crystallite and single crystal molecules using a THz-wave parametric oscillator (TPO) spectroscopic system. We observed the vibration modes of mono- and disaccharides clearly and differences between the spectra of each molecule. We discuss the mechanism for the absorption peaks of several mono- and disaccharides in the THz-region.
