Research and development on communication services using radio and antennas mounted on vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles, high-altitude platform stations, and other mobile vehicles is increasing. Because these communication environments are based on line-of-sight (LoS), the application of LoS-multiple input multiple output (LoS-MIMO) transmission effectively improves channel capacity. However, angular changes between the transmitter and receiver owing to movement cause degradation of the LoS-MIMO channel and polarization loss. Therefore, it is necessary to design a system that ensures a stable and high channel capacity. Here, we demonstrate that the proposed array configuration with dual-polarized (DP) antennas is robust against angular changes, and that the array antenna can be downsized and multiplexed by orthogonal polarization through theoretical analysis and experimental verification.
