An improved implementation of the Chua's chaotic oscillator is proposed. The new realization is based on the use of voltage and current followers to construct the active three-segment voltage-controlled nonlinear resistor. The proposed circuit is optimized for low-voltage operation with \pm1.5V, by using standard CMOS technology of 0.35..m AMS. The HSPICE simulations performed in both time and frequency domains, show that the proposed topology can generate the original chaotic oscillations from Chua's circuit, where the chaotic spectrum is extended at high frequencies.
