Theunmanned aerial vehicles are gaining popularity in commercial applications apart from military applications. The expertise of unmanned aerial vehicles is changing with their application and advancement in technology, especially in controlling and monitoring of drones. In this paper, a four- rotor based drone called quadcopter is designed, implemented, and tested. The proposed drone can be used in the surveillance of mapped areas. The features of quadcopter include auto landing, and remote monitoring using IoT. The system is realized by interfacing with Raspberry Pi to control and monitor the drone and the code is written using open CV in Python.
