Since the lack of power has an impact on community water supply pumping requirements, harnessing solar energy in water pumping seems to be a possible alternative to traditional electrical pumping systems. The solar pump system has become widely used in the agriculture, industry, and domestic markets in recent years as a result of continual improvement. Photovoltaic (PV) technology turns solar energy into electricity, which is used to power a Dc and Ac motor-based pump. This article presents solar water pumping technologies, performance analyses, economic and environmental implications, as well as breakthroughs in PV materials. Simulation software aids in the design of the system and demonstrates how various parameters affect its performance. For domestic as well as industrial appliances and water supply in rural, urban, and distant areas, solar PV systems are more cost-effective than electricity or fuel systems. Solar water pumping systems have a 4-4 year investment payback period. By using this, the cost of the electricity bill, in the long run, is reduced. The generated electricity can also be given to the grid to save on the generation of electricity. The output results are validated through Simulink/MATLAB.
