Loop-enabled vehicular dual ring networks leveraging redundant paths face challenges in maintaining efficient time synchronization due to increased message overhead, collisions, and variations in end-to-end delay. Although IEEE 802.1AS and IEEE 1588 provide standard solutions, their traditional implementations can generate excessive traffic, resulting in congestion at the time synchronization coordinator. In this paper, propose an efficient time synchronization protocol for vehicular networks that permit loops. Our method reduces protocol message load on the coordinator, minimizes network congestion, and improves delay bounds while maintaining synchronization accuracy. This paper presents key insights derived from experimental results and explores implications for vehicular networking applications.
