To decrease the torque ripple, the direct torque control for a 8/6 switched reluctance motor (SRM) are presented by borrowing the idea from an induction motor. The four-order orthogonal transformation matrix of the flux linkage of a SRM is derived step by step based on energy conservation principle. The relation between the spatial flux linkage and the voltage vector is analyzed, and the switching table of the voltage vector is designed. A simulaiton study are carried out both for the fuzzy adaptive model and the tradiontal linear model. The simulated results showed that direct torque control based on fuzzy T-S model is superior to traditional linear model, in that the velocity is more stable and the torque is more precise.
