Motor fault-tolerant control is an important part of improving the reliability of motor drive systems. Compared to voltage source inverters (VSIs), current source inverters (CSIs) have advantages in reducing the harmonic content of motor current and improving system reliability. The improved H7 CSI topology performs better in reducing common mode voltage and reducing losses. In this article, an inter-turn short-circuit (SC) fault-tolerant (FT) control model for three-phase PMSMs was established, and an inter-turn fault-control method of PMSMs fed by an H7 CSI was proposed. Simulation results showed that the proposed FT control method has good performance in suppressing torque ripple. In addition, compared with VSI, CSI has a better performance in FT control.
