Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) brings in significant benefits of efficient and less error-prone development for complex products. However, in transforming from non-MBSE to MBSE development, besides technologies and tools, process and organizational aspects are critical in determining the success of a program. This paper explores challenges in process and organizational structure for large manufacturing enterprises and discusses frequently made mistakes in an MBSE program. Through analyzing these issues, the paper proposes an efficient process that can be executed in parallel pipeline, and a 3-factor technical team structure for a successful MBSE program. Together, these establish a paradigm for efficient approach and organizational transformations towards MBSE.
