Since the existing evaluation methods of wind energy utilization cannot effectively cover the environmental factors in port and the evaluation dimension is too unitary. The article proposes a multi-dimensional wind energy utilization potential assessment method for port, which is based on the port’s wind energy resource characteristics. Considering the unique characteristics of port environments, this article has constructed evaluation models from three dimensions: port wind power potential, life-cycle economics of port wind farm, and life-cycle carbon emissions of wind farm. The article also evaluates and verifies the potential of wind energy utilization in a certain port area of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, which hopefully can be used as a reference for the assessment of wind energy resource in other ports.
