This project is mainly to develop and implement an accurate identification and location system for apple fruit targets. The system aims to improve the accuracy and speed of apple picking positioning. This system proposes an YOLOv5 model for the complex situation of apple orchards. This model can improve the recognition accuracy of overlapping apple targets and can calculate the number of fruits on the apple tree while recognizing them, and finally estimate the total output of the orchard. On the basis of accurate identification, this system uses a depth camera to obtain depth images and color images, and after fusion, the three-dimensional space coordinates of the fruit core can be obtained, thereby realizing the identification and positioning of apple fruits.
