A model order reduction based controller is proposed for a twin rotor multi-input multi-output system (TRMS). Firstly, the higher-order TRMS is reduced to a lower-order model using dominant pole retention and Pade approximation method. A controller is designed for this reduced-order model and then implemented to original TRMS in the second stage. A numerical example is included to demonstrate the implementation of proposed method.
