The TMN-based approach makes it possible to pursue integrated management technology which makes the network manager easily recognize the relations between lower speed transport network and higher speed transport network. The super-high speed transport network is to be deployed which connects down to the various tributary networks. In this paper, an agent-manager scheme for managing effectively the relation of this tributary layered transport networks is proposed. The purpose is to propose the server role of the agent for the effective relational management based on the common management information model on transport network nodes. Furthermore, the impact of the effectiveness of the integrated management and engineering on this agent-manager design are described.
