Gyrotron oscillators have served as effective sources in electron cyclotron heating. With the advent of CVD diamond windows, gyrotrons with output power levels greater than a megawatt are feasible. At CPI, we are currently developing and building a prototype 110 GHz, 1.5 MW gyrotron. The experimental results of this gyrotron can be reported.
