This article describes the principle EMC standards applied to the railway sector, with particular reference to the set of new standards ENV 50121. At experimental level, these standards must be validated with the contribution of railway operators and manufacturers. The experience gained in this process has provided interesting results regarding improved awareness of EMC problems with a view to producing a consistent regulatory framework.
