The special roll-torque balance was fabricated for the purpose of the measurement of the slight rolling torque which is produced by appendage on a slender body. The balance had a linear output and could measure as much as 0.1Nm of rolling torque. The output can be estimated by a simple formula. The balance was tested with a rocket model with appendages on its surface at Mach 0.3 in the wind tunnel. The tested parameters were the number of the appendages and the angles of roll. The obtained results can be interpreted reasonably, taking into the account the flow separation.
