Security in data transfer has become an inevitable part in modern technology. At present there are various technologies for sending secret information, but preserving security in information exchange is of great challenge. This project proposes an approach for steganography using a reversible texture synthesis and tree based parity checking which provides a higher level of security in data transfer. A texture synthesis process resamples a texture image, and synthesizes a new texture image with a similar local appearance and a similar size. Texture synthesis process is combined with steganography to conceal secret messages. Instead of using an existing cover image to hide secret messages, this algorithm conceals the source texture image and embeds secret messages through the process of texture synthesis and parity checking. This facilitates to extract the secret messages and source texture from a stego synthetic texture. This approach offers four distinct advantages. First, the scheme offers better data embedding capacity that is proportional to the size of the stego image. Second, a steganalytic algorithm is not good enough to defeat the steganographic approach. Third, the reversible capability provides efficient recovery of the source texture. Fourth, by using tree based parity checking helps to improve the security. To be specific this approach offers a secure state for information exchange.
