A co-simulation system in CarMaker and MAT-LAB is built for the study of control problems such as energy management optimization of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) under a V2X connected environment in this paper. The Carmaker can provide a complete V2X connected environment and certain vehicle models, but can’t establish an individual and complete powertrain model for specific control research. Meanwhile, it is also necessary to build some control strategies of HEVs in MATLAB/Simulink environment. As a case study, testing results of energy management control of a connected HEV are demonstrated on this platform to verify the applicability of the established co-simulation platform function.
