The suspension system of public transport vehicles is meant to provide a comfortable ride by absorbing the shocks of irregular and bumpy roads, and improving the road holding ability of tires. Springs and Dampers are the two major parts of a suspension system. In this research work, two different control strategies viz. Ziegler-Nichols (Z-N) method and Simulated Annealing (SA) optimization are used in MATLAB to develop the control system associated with a car suspension system. A comparison of their performance is also carried out in this work.
