Various emergency situations such as sudden loss of generation, transmission system disruption, etc. have led to the popularity of the idea of resilient microgrids. Vehicle to grid or V2G has also become a popular notion with the rise in the sales of EVs. While V2G is primarily associated with vehicles supporting the traditional utility grid, they can also be useful is achieving microgrid resiliency. This paper describes a practical demonstration of a microgrid resiliency experiment with V2G in a typical office building along with a mobile battery energy storage system. The experimental results prove the validity of the idea that V2G can also assist in carrying a microgrid, rather than aiding only the traditional utility grid. It may also be helpful in identifying the limitations of simulation-based works and improve the simulation models.
