In the framework of Clean Sky European Project, one of the more sensible actions is developing an on-line trajectory optimizer to reduce aircraft emissions and an algorithm for on-board advanced weather radar, which provides weather pheno-mena classification. To perform such tasks CNIT developed an event based Decision Support System, running on an Electronic Flight Bag, which is thought to be interfaced with the aircraft and Advanced Polarimetric Doppler Weather Radar, that auto-matically, when new unforeseen events happened (producing new no-flight zones that can come from new weather radar data, METAR, SIGMET, NOTAM or other sensors) provides the pilot with a new updated trajectory visualized on the EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) display with the no-flight zones. Such information can increase pilot situation awareness and help him in the decision making process especially in scenarios requiring weather avoidance activities, safety enhancement fuel consumption and emissions reduction.
