Taking the advantage of the accelerating behavior of a spatial soliton in a ramp waveguide and also the soliton's oscillating behavior while propagating inside a trapezoidal waveguide, for the first time, we have proposed compound ramp waveguide structures which enable us to control the direction of the propagation of spatial solitons. Such structures consist of a ramp followed by a second ramp with inverted profile displaced along the transverse direction, which in turn is terminated by a trapezoidal waveguide. These waveguides can differentiate a low power soliton from a high power one. Such selectivity can be enhanced by corrugating the first ramp along the x-axis of the waveguide. This property can be used to design smart soliton couplers.
