The vehicle detection data of expressway toll lane is the key basic data in the transaction processing process of toll system. The accuracy of vehicle detection results directly affects the normal operation of toll system. There are many deficiencies in the ground sensing coil, video detection, infrared detection, lidar detection and other detectors in the actual lane environment, and there are problems such as leakage, false inspection, interference, installation and maintenance difficulties caused by external factors. Therefore, this paper on the basis of the advantages and disadvantages of various vehicle detection technology, studied the technology based on millimeter wave radar, analyze the basic principle, difficulty, build detection algorithm, and use a domestic expressway toll station, so as to improve the toll lane vehicle detection accuracy and operation maintenance efficiency, has high application value.
