One of the key problems for active vibration control is to determine the position of actuators in the structure, which affects the efficiency and the cost of vibration active control system. In this paper, a new method is proposed to seek the optimal position of actuator in active vibration control. This paper use EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) as the optimization rule under which GA (Genetic Algorithm) is used to seek the optimal position of actuator. The GARTEUR plane model is used as the research object for method validation. The new method is applied to seek the optimal position of actuator on the model which is used to control the simulated engine vibration problem. At last, an active vibration control experiment is conducted on the model to verify the applicability and effectiveness of this method. The result shows: The optimal position obtained by the new method can obviously improve the active vibration control effect on the model.
