The basic driving ability of the site is the basis for the trainees to drive on the road, but the existing training system cannot scientifically measure the driving ability of the trainees, resulting in the lack of actual driving ability of the trainees, and the serious problem that the trainees still cannot drive on the road after passing the exam. As a new mode of field driving skill training, the intelligent training vehicle provides conditions for starting the digital evaluation of driving skills. This study collected 358 driving school trainees’ whole chain data from field driving training to subject 2 examination. The study found that the one-time pass rate of field driving skills was only 43.14%, and gender and age were significant factors affecting the pass rate of the test. By tracing the training process of the trainees and integrating the driving behavior data such as steering wheel angle, speed, driving track, gear position and turn signal, the trainees’ five kinds of abilities in different subjects, including direction perception ability, vehicle manipulation ability, prediction ability, dynamic adjustment ability and driving habits, are quantitatively evaluated. The evaluation of driving ability in digital venues is of great significance for improving trainees’ actual driving ability, promoting the connection between training and examination contents, and promoting the supervision of driving training process. It guides the transition of driving skill training in venues from “result oriented” to “process oriented”.
