This paper presents the majority of the possible charging algorithms in the context of the charge of one vehicle in a housing. As such six optimal strategies are proposed: three smart unidirectional and three smart bidirectional algorithms where the Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and the Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) concepts were exploited. The common aim of the six algorithms is to minimize the charging cost of the Plug-in Electric Vehicle (PEV). Linear Programming method is used to solve the optimization problem. The use case results show the great economic profitability potential of the optimal bidirectional algorithms. In addition, the results show also the largely influence of the shape of the Daily Energy Price (DEP) profile.
