Results from simulator trails and flight trials indicate that — Flyability of a Steep Segment Approaches using a 4,49° segment is given — even under tailwind conditions and high temperature — G/S intercept from above does not create any problems — Manual speed control via spoilers is possible — Vertical profile is flown precisely by FMS — Airline procedures and ICAO standards need to be adapted — Noise measurements — Only few data available (Frankfurt) — > basic trend of noise reduction at measurement positions demonstrated — Benefits can be expected at distances > 10 km from threshold — More noise measurement data required to validate results
